Though vitamin b12 is a very important vitamin which is required only in very low doses, yet a lot of persons in the world continue to be suffering from what is called b12 deficiency symptoms. The next groups of people of who are at risk of suffering from b12 deficiency symptoms are adults who are above the age of 50. These people often suffer from a condition which is known as atrophic gastritis. In fact 30% of adults over the age group of 50 suffer from this syndrome. This condition rapidly changes the digestive system of the body and makes it very difficult for the body to absorb Vitamin B12 in its natural form or in other words from natural foods. Hence, these groups of people have to be totally dependent on B12 supplements without which they will start facing a lot of problems associated with this vitamin. Though natural form of vitamin B12 is always preferable, such groups of people have no other option but to depend on synthetic sources outside their natural food items.
There are many ways synthetic supplements can be taken in and these include tablets, capsules, injections, strips. Whichever way, the patient has to ensure that he or she gets the required recommended daily dosage of Vitamin B12 to avoid complications and some classic symptoms of B12 deficiency.
